At Devorise Media & Business Solutions, we are seeking a talented and creative Video Editor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling recorded raw material into a finished project that matches the director’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting. The material may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects. This is a key role in the post-production process and your skills can determine the quality and delivery of the final product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity.
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film.
- Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects.
- Create rough and final cuts.
- Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video.
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running.
- Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process.
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and the industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
- Manage and oversee the technical aspects of editing, including computer editing software, video digitizing equipment, and data storage.
- Collaborate closely with others in the audio and visual team to ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor with a strong portfolio.
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut).
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing.
- Creative mind and storytelling skills.
Preferred Skills:
- BS degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field.
- Experience with sound engineering is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for aesthetic quality.
